The shortest, slowest, wettest cycle this summer…….
After weeks of dry sunshine, we were reminded today of how different it can be cycling in the rain. We set off from Cheltenham and tried to escape the busy traffic to reach the surrounding countryside and quiet roads with world record breaking style:
Distance: 4.12 miles
Total Time: 50.38 minutes
Active Time: 26.44 minutes
Average Active Speed: 9.3mph
2.1 miles in, soaked to the skin, cold and hating the dark skies and rush hour traffic, we turned around and headed home for a warm shower, glass of wine and online waterproof shopping spree in preparation for the inevitable wet miles during our 1000 mile LEJOG cycling challenge starting next month.
Starting next month???!!!! Crikey!!
