Day 3 to Launceston

Alison, Chris, Julia, Linda, Mark, Paula & Sheena

“When my legs hurt, I say, shut up legs and do what I tell you to do”

This quote just about sums up our day! The weather was kinder, a light drizzle at worst but the hill were unrelenting and our legs complained! In fact it is nearly midnight as I write this and they are still complaining! Despite mechanical problems with two bikes that will necessitate an early trip to the bike shop tomorrow, we managed another 40 hilly miles. We have no photographic evidence of the hills as we have to focus solely on keeping going when we reach them.

By the end of this week, we will be cycling double this distance each day.

The evening however was perfect. Hosted by Linda’s friend Helen, at her Green House Cafe in Launceston. We were met with a wonderful smile, lovely surroundings and a spectacular spread of fantastic locally sourced food. A perfect end to an exhausting day.

  1. Thank you for taking the time to write a daily blog with photos at the end of each day, we are really enjoying reading it and following you all on your cycle challenge from the comfort of our armchairs in Suffolk. It sounds like it will be a very tough ride; good luck to all the riders
