Only to find that we were only half way up! But we were rewarded with a stunning ride over Bodmin Moor (undulating steeply). There followed some monstrous climbs – a lot steeper than our 20% yesterday. Only one puncture today and one bike needing a new gear set.

Big shout out to our support crew who have been meeting us at various points with plentiful snacks and drinks and who were able to change a gear set while we enjoyed a leisurely lunch stop. Also thanks to the Wilsey Down, Hallworthy who opened especially to provide us with welcome coffee and The Laurels Inn, Petrockstow who made us all rolls despite the fact that they had stopped serving food.

We have now arrived at the lovely Fox and Hounds, Chulmleigh.
